Access Intercom System

Overview

With multiple offices in the North, TaxAssist Accountants - an accountancy and tax service for small businesses - contracted R&W to supply and install a simple-to-use access audio intercom system to be standardised across their offices. The access intercom system featured hands free capability to reduce the need for touch-contact in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Security was also a high priority for this customer, because their offices were located on busy high streets. They therefore opted for a system that increased security; making it easier for employees to safely and professionally admit customers. The system was designed with DDA compliance in mind and also emergency conditions including emergency egress and power-failure states. The external intercom was designed to be resilient,weather and vandal resistant whilst also providing the required professional aesthetic look. R&W were also contracted to carry out electrical and infrastructure works for the company, because of R&W’s in-house capabilities. This small project was an enjoyable one to be involved with, because it was an opportunity for R&W to support a small business with a simple technical solution that helped them respond to a global demand for businesses to invest in improving their working environment in terms of safety and security measures in a post-Covid-19 world and therefore increase staff and customer satisfaction.
